I stopped asking everyone else, and something started speaking back
When you listen to your intuition, the magic starts flowing in
A challenge I’ve undertaken this month has been to trust myself, and to try not asking anyone before making decisions. I’ve taken to asking my intuition instead. It’s been a fun little powerful game.
Last week, I asked my intuition for a dream. I ended up, in my dream, in Costa Rica with an old friend that I haven’t talked to in over 20 years. The friend from 20 years ago is a friend I no longer have. It is a friendship I lost over the years, like many others. I’ve been mourning this exact thing recently – this no longer being the girl I once was.
I’ve been sorting through old pictures, papers, and memories from my childhood and young adulthood. And I think this week, I’ve turned a corner. I no longer feel a gnawing discomfort around her (who I used to be). Actually, I feel proud of her for the things she learned and the lessons she put herself through. She could have stayed scared and not sung in the choir. She could have stayed small and off the theater stage. She could have stayed home and not traveled the world. And yet, she tried many hard things. Because of her, I had the guts to become exactly who I am right now: a teacher, an entrepreneur, a wife. Because of her, I am accomplished, confident, and resilient.
When I returned home from work on the day of my Costa Rican dream I found a nest of sky blue duck eggs in the nook behind our house. My husband told me the mother had been scared off earlier in the day when he opened the back door for the first time this Spring. We were afraid she had abandoned her nest. I checked how many eggs: 7. Said I’d check on them again the next day.
It is said that eggs found behind your house mean that it is a place that can hold new ideas and growth. The eggs are a symbol of the unseen: not yet hatched, but already real. A reminder that not everything is visible yet, but that doesn’t mean nothing is happening. Something is incubating. Protect it, don’t rush it. Eggs, as symbols, are an invitation to trust your instincts and tend gently to what is emerging.
As a bonus, the nest is in the southeast corner of our home: the sector of abundance and wealth according to Feng Shui. A good omen.
Even more prescient, perhaps, is that ducks are the only creatures that move constantly between land, water, and air. Right now, these are the elements balancing out the fire of Aries season. At a time when things felt precarious, this mother duck has re-grounded my faith in the universe.
What is the egg right now, in you, that feels like it’s waiting to hatch?
Is your home a welcoming space for new life to occur?
Are you a welcoming space for new life to occur?
When I came back the following day, I counted the eggs again: 9. And then today: 10.
I asked for a dream, and my intuition gave me even more. Isn’t that how God works?

Have you been wanting to “clear” your home a little deeper this Spring? Intentionally build and place a Feng Shui salt cure. Watch to the end of the video to see best sizes and placements for your particular home. Learn how to build one here.
Been going through your own sentimental clutter lately? Write a letter to yourself, to all the yous you’ve ever been, thanking them for all they’ve done to get you where you are today. (You are still that person, in a new form.)
Okay, one more: I created a Tarot spread to help you process the hard, particularly sentimental clutter: thoughts you’re struggling to let go of, emotions you’re struggling to process. It’s coming next week! Until then, here are the prompts to reflect on in your journal.
Tell me how it goes in the comments. And don’t forget to fill this out post-today’s session.
Next week, Sunday April 19th at 6 PM, will be the final date for this round of The Home Detox. We’ll be discussing what Feng Shui says about how our homes can support our creativity, and as a culmination of the sessions, we’ll be holding a ritual for letting go of some of the things cluttering our lives. The end of Aries season seems fitting for a burning of the chaff, doesn’t it?
What’s cluttering your life? Are you ready to let it go?

I love all of this 💖 thanks for the spread.
I love this intuition/trust practice! What a beautiful tie in with letting go of the things we hold on to.
Glad to hear momma duck has been back 🦆💕
